Setting Realistic Goals

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

So, you have a wedding coming up and you want to look fantastic for it. Whether you’re the one getting married, you’re a bridesmaid, or you just want to look hot in the audience, you have a right to want to look great! The question, of course, is how you are going to do so.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. If you have three months until the big date, for instance, think about realistic goals. On a 1200 calorie diet, you can probably lose about 2 pounds a week leading up to the wedding.

Be realistic with yourself as well. If you’ve never been a size four in your life – don’t expect that you’ll become one for this wedding! Set realistic goals for yourself and reward yourself along the way with a manicure, a pedicure, or another non-calorie related treat.

No Skipping Meals In Pursuit of a Great Body

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

We’ve probably all done it at one time or another; skipped meals thinking that it would be a good way to save on calories. Sometimes, we accidentally skip meals, forgetting to eat because we are too busy. Usually, however, it’s an intentional act, and it really doesn’t help you to lose weight in the long run. Here’s why:

Often times, when you skip a meal, it makes you famished later, and you’re more likely to select high caloric foods when you do sit down for the next meal. Also, your body gets confused when you skip meals and it can hurt your metabolism if you engage in this practice too often.

Rather than skipping meals, try to eat five small meals during the course of the day. Munch on vegetables during the day to keep your stomach full without adding many empty calories.
